114 Synthesis and Characterization of Heterogeneous Catalysts using Modified Chitosan Synthesis and Characterization ofSensor using Modified Graphene for Identification of Hydrogen Peroxide Behnam Tahmasebi b tahmasebi@ch iut ac ir Department of Chemistry Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 8311 Iran Supervisor Prof M Ghiaci mghiaci@cc iut ac ir Degree M Sc Language PersianAbstract This study is divided to four section First of all immobilized Mn and Co porphyrin based catalysts supported on chitosan with 10 1 molar ratio were synthesized Then theircharacterizations and morphologies investigated by different techniqus such as FT IR UV Vis TGA FESEM and ICP Their catalytic application were examined in the oxidationreaction of ethylbenzene therefore in optimized conditions for temperature time andamount of oxidant We achieved to high conversion and selectivity to acetophenoneproduct In the second part of project due to porphyrin chelation ability towards differenttransition metals a palladium based catalyst was prepared and characterized with sametechniques sach as TGA UV Vis ICP FT IR and XRD Recent catalyst applied for C Ccoupling such as Suzuki and Sonogashira reactions This catalyst in modified conditions was showed high conversion in coupling reactions In the third section surface of chitosanmodified with carboxy methyl group and iron magnetic nanoparticles and then ananocomposite was prepared for future drug delivery and MRI imaging Finaly a porphyrincompound with ferrocene substitution and Cu complexes was synthesized Then Cu II Meso tetraferrocenylporphyrin supported on modified graphene was prepared as a sensorbased surface modified graphene oxide and its reduction to modified graphene with aminegroups This sensor investigated by using TGA UV Vis FT IR techniques Then weapplied this sensor for Hydrogenperoxide Keywords Chitosan Porphyrin catalysts Acetophenone graphene ferrocene sensor
