Mass and Width Calculation of 1405 and Investigation ofMass Spectrum of 0 Reaction Using Hemigway Data Abbas Hassasfar a hassasfar@ph iut ac ir 10 01 2015 Department of Physics Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Dr Maryam Hassanvand hassanvand@cc iut ac irAbstract When a negatively charged particle other than an electron like muon pion orbits a nu cleus under a condition in which the principal interaction with the nucleus is electromagnetic exotic atoms are formed Exotic atoms formed with the muon are subject to weak interaction while for all other exotic atoms strong interaction is involved in addition to the electromag netic interaction with the nucleus The electromagnetic interaction with the nucleus is verywell known therefore even a small deviation from the electromagnetic value e g due tostrong interaction could be measured performing precision experiments Studies of exotic hadronic atoms have provided important information on strong interaction physics Oneof the most important exotic atoms are Kanonic hydrogen atoms By entering the negativekaon as a hadron in hydrogen and collision with proton according to strong interaction be tween meson and baryon a quasi bound state is formed with the mass of 1405M eV c2 called 1405 In this thesis to solve the current debate on the position of the quasi bound K p state namely 1405 or we have used the data obtained from K absorbtion in the bub ble chamber of liquid hydrogen The invariant mass spectra in the resonant captureof K at 4 2GeV c in proton are calculated by a coupled channel procedure for a K pquasi bound state of an arbitary chosen mass M and width We use the transition ma trix and optical phenomenological potential to solve our problem A 2 analysis yieldedM 1405 4 M eV c2 and 72 3 M eV calculation and investigation of the invari 3 4 2 ant mass spectra of give a helpful approach to find out the structure of this resonantstate Using 2 fitting method experimental data CERN 2m hydrogrn bubble chamber arecompared to our theoretical results Keywords Exotic atom Kaonic nuclei 1405 resonance Hemingway Data Invariant mass spectrum
