84 Risk Assessment Of Safety Health And Environment Of Gol Gohar Pelletizing Plant With FMEA Method and Bayesian Network Zohreh Yazdaninasab ms zohreyazdani@yahoo com Date of Submission 2015 01 12 Department of Natural Resources Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Dr Hossein Moradi hossein moradi@cc iut ac ir Abstract Mining is considered as one of the main pillars of human development Working in mine is recognized of the most difficult with many incidents where we see many incidents every year in each mine around the globe Optimal management of the mine is not only to maximum production but a balance among the worker s health and safety and environmental health with maximum economic benefits Therefore Risk Assessment and Management is an effective technique to reach that goal This study is aimed to assess health safety and environmental risks of Gol Gohar pelletizing plant using FMEA method and Bayesian networks To do this totaly 65 risks within three discipline as health safety and environment in different units of the plant were identified The result of the FMEA showed that about 22 percent of risks classified as supercritical risks 49 percent critical and 29 percent are classified as low risks Moreover most of the supercritical risks are in Dry Grinding unit and Disk unit and most of the low risks are in furnace unit Fire risks caused by gas torches in entrance of mill with 270 Risk Priority Number and spreading NaOH and SO2 steads and dust with 256 RPN have the highest RPN number Overfilling of pan and hole in the bag filter and spreading of dust has taken 50 RPN both Result of Bayesian networks showed that the igh level risks are mostly in the Mixer Unit unit and low risks in Screening unit respectively The result of both methods revealed that the plant has a high level risks where the mitigation measures to reduce the risks is essential Sensitivity analysis indicated that mitigation measures on the safety related riks has more influential effects than on the environmental and health related to reduce the total risk of this plant Keywords Risk assessment Bayesian network FMEA Pelletezing plant Gol Gohar
