77 Profile Distribution of Selected Nutritional Elements and HeavyMetals in Kuhrang Rangeland Soils as Affected by Plant Species and Parent Materials Pooya hoshyar Poya1329@yahoo com July 28 2015 Department of Soil Science Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Hossein khademi hkhademi@cc iut ac irAbstractParent material and vegetation are two important and influential factor in the formation of soil Type of elementsin the soil and their availability to plants depends heavily on soil parent material as different parent materialreleases different amount of element during the weathering process However type and density of vegetationchange with amount of organic matter and mechanism of element cycle Overshadowed the availability of elementin rangeland ecosystem Botanical characteristics of the vegetation and the amount of plant residue added to thesoil determined importance of that plant species in releases of the element in soil and uptake by plant Heavyelements that existing in pasture soil with Entering to the plant and animal tissue come into the human food chainand endanger human health Therefore studies the Trend of change of heavy element in soil and amount of heavyelement Absorbed by plant can provided necessary knowledge to predict human health risks This study wereconducted to investigated profile distribution of heavy element and nutritional affected by Astragalus spp andDaphne and different parent material in upland rangeland around Koohrang city as an example of the Zagrosrangeland The experiment were conducted as factorial and completely randomized design with three replicated In The study area selected three different parent material that included foss iliferous argillaceous limestone fossiliferous dolomitic limestone and fossiliferous conglomerate red sandstone and in each parent material threeplaces were selected In each place two profiles with Astragalus spp and Daphne and a profile for the regionwithout the plant as a control profile to depth of 100 cm were drilling and sampled Then the physical and chemicalproperties and concentrations of nutritional and heavy element in soil profile including soil texture pH theamount of lime and etc and the concentration of heavy element zinc copper iron and nickel was measured inplants The results showed that heavy metals have significant positive correlation with organic carbon and cationexchange capacity and a significant negative correlation with amount of soil lime Existence of vegetation witheffects on soil organic carbon have an important role in fixing the heavy element in top soil and increase theavailability of nutrients in the upper horizon Organic matter as an important elements abs orbent and kept them atsurface of soil and prevent movement of them in profile depth Type of parent material have significant effect onamount of soil element while the vegetation in some cases could not make a significant difference in concentrationof element Red conglomerate parent material Because of more resistance to weathering have a coarser texture andrelease fewer element compare to argillaceous limestone and dolomite in soil Soils formed on limestone marl andlimestone dolomitic parent material because of more development and due to more soil depth have more organicmatter cation exchange capacity and percentage of clay and silt compare with soils formed on red conglomerate Soils formed on the red conglomerate parent material due to coarse t exture compared to limestone parent materialhave more sand Trend changing of total and adsorbed concentration of element in profile is similar so thatchanges in different depths of the profiles obeyed a similar pattern Key words parent material vegetation nutritional element heavy element profile distribution
