94Performance of denibmoC Geotextile Sand Zeolite and Anthracite Coal Filters ref Physical Treatment of Wastewater Ali Amiri Ali amiri444@yahoo com September 15 2015 Department of Water Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Mahdi Gheysari Gheysari@cc iut ac ir Abstract With ergger to the lack of water in Iran new and secure replacement of water resources should be considerd Using urban refined sewage in agriculture and urban greenbelt reduces the pressure on water resources The usage of purified sewage through drip irrigation system is the safest way for decreasing the effect of sewage misuse in the environment and humans health Filteration system is the main part of drip irrigation systems and in making filter the most important part is the selection absorbent This study aims at checking the practicality of geotextile filters with zeolith antheracite coal and sand minerals as absorbent and filters in lowering the amount of nitrat NO 3 turbidity Total of Suspended Solid TSS Total of Dissolved Solids TDS Electrical Conductivity EC and pH of the sewege of Isfahan University of Technology In this research an expriment with three replicate were carried out with a completely random design of 13 treatments including 700 gram in square meters geotextile 500 gram in square meters geotextile 350 gram in square meters geotextile sand zeolit antheracite coal sand zeolit antheracite coal zeolit sand antheracite coal geotextile sand geotextile zeolit geotextile antheracite coal geotextile sand zeolit antheracite coal and geotextile zeolit sand antheracite coal The expriment was done in columns by using a column of 125 mm diameter and 75 cm height The results demonstrated the effectiveness of each 13 treatments in decreasing the TSS and turbidity Geotextile sand zeolit antheracite coal and geotextile zeolit sand antheracite coal treatment had the best results in the reduuction of TSS with respectively 59 deletion and the treatments of antheracite coal and geotextile antheracite coal showed the best performance in the reduuction of turbidity with the deletion of 62 and 59 respectively The 700 gram in square meters geotextile 500 gram in square meters geotextile 350 gram in square meters geotextile sand and geotextile sand treatments had not impact on NO3 absorption and the best performance in reducing NO3 was observed in geotextile zeolit treatment with 23 deletion The treatments of this expriment had less effect in TDS and EC deletions and they also did not affect the improvement of sewage pH parameter In terms of the amount of exited sewage the sand zeolit antheracite coal treatment had the best efficiency among all treatments with the purification of 91 8 cube meter sewage in the square meters unit and the worst operatiom was seen in the treatments of geotextile filters In general multilayered filters had a much better performance than the monolayered ones Although the geotextile filters by themselves did not have a high performance in the improvement of the studied factors but in combination with the medium of other filters they raised the proper performance time of filter and the deletion percentage of under study factors Keywords Ecentric water Filteration Geotextile Sand Zeolit Antheracite coal
