75 Abstract One of the most important applications of nanotechnology in medicine isdrug delivery applications The main objective of the pharmaceutical industryis targeted and controlled drug delivery to human body Targeted drugdelivery can be achieved using nanotechnology and control drug release time location and velocity Nanofibers based on their unique characteristics whichhave very large surface area and porous structure with very small holes are sopractical in the pharmaceutical industry In recent years many methods wereused for producing polymer nanofibers but among these methods electrospunis the easiest and least expensive way to produce nanofibers with variousstructures and compounds In medical applications such as drug deliveryusually natural polymers are more concerned than synthetic polymers becausethe polymer properties such as biocompatibility biodegradability and arerenewable In this study electrospun method was used to produce polyvinylalcohol carboxymethyl cellulose nonofibers Carboxymethyl cellulose CMC is a modified natural biopolymer with carboxyl functional group which isbiocompatible and renewable and is a very appropriate choice to createcovalent bonding with drugs including amino group In this study the drugFluFenamic Acid FFA due to an amino group in its structure was selected asa drug substance including amino group In this study to obtain theelectrospunable concentration range of carboxymethyl cellulose withpolyvinyl alcohol 10 carboxymethyl cellulose solutions at a concentrationof 2 3 4 and 1 5 in the ratio of 50 50 60 40 70 30 80 20 and 90 10from polyvinyl alcohol to carboxymethyl cellulose PVA CMC wereprepared and electrospinning process was then conducted In this study theprocess of electrospinning was performed with a voltage of 20kv a distancefrom the needle tip to collector of 20cm and a flow rate of 2ml hr Accordingto results of the electrospinning at a concentration of 4 carboxymethylcellulose and concentration of 3 carboxymethyl cellulose in the ratio of50 50 60 40 and 70 30 and concentration of 2 carboxymethyl cellulose inthe ratio of 50 50 fibrous weren t formed The fibers were lacked in theseconcentrations and ratios can be attributed to the high concentration solution The fiber structure was investigated by scanning electron microscopy Nanofiber diameter was determined between 110 and 589 nm Due todiameter and uniformity optimization of fiber ratio of 80 20 polyvinylalcohol carboxymethyl cellulose The FluFenamic Acid FFA andcarboxymethyl cellulose solution with a ratio of 80 20 of PVA CMC FFAelectrospinning was performed The results of scanning electron microscopywere showed that the fiber diameter of the nanofibers was reduced and insome parts of spindle shaped structure The average diameter of 219 nm wasobtained This can be due to grafting and FluFenamic Acid the diameter andstructure changes was occurred The amino group therapy FluFenamic Acidand carboxyl group carboxymethyl cellulose existence was determined byusing infrared spectrometer FTIR from 1330 to 1352 and 1654 to 1689 respectively Using fluorescence microscope was showed that the druguniformly FluFenamic Acid in polyvinyl alcohol carboxymethyl cellulose
