High order splitting methods for separable non autonomous parabolic eqations usef Afsanejoo Y y afsaneh@math iut ac ir 2018 Department of Mathematical Sciences Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Supervisor Dr Mehdi Tatari mtatari@cc iut ac ir Advisor Dr Reza Mokhtari mokhtari@cc iut ac ir 2010 MSC 05C15 53C42 Keywords Parabolic equation Splitting Methods Non autonomous Problem Complex Coeffi cients Abstract An important problemin in engineering and physics is obtaining solution of differential equations among which the most important of these equations are partial differential equations In most cases there is no analytical solution to these equations or it is very difficult to obtain them That is whyobtaining a suitable numerical method is an important issue to find the approximate solution of theseequations In recent years numerical solution of time dependent separation parabolic equations has been ofinterest to researchers by using high order splitting methods with complex coefficients These methodshave been investigated for autonomous equations and have shown good performance 9 11 Splittingmethods with real coefficients of higher order than two necessarily have negative coefficients and cannot be used to solve these problems 5 8 However there are methods with comolex coefficientswith positive real part and some of these methods can yield high performance In 6 13 problems incelestial mechanics and quantum mechanics are presented in which splitting methods with comolexcoefficients are used The basis of this dissertation is an article which is writtrn by Seyedaglou and Blanche 37 in nu merical solution of non autonomous separable parabolic equations using high order splitting methodswith complex or real coefficients
