Regression Analysis of Interval Censored Failure Time Data Elham Amoorahimi e amoo@math iut ac ir 2018 Department of Mathematical Sciences Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranSupervisor Dr Maryam Kelkinnama m kelkinnama@cc iut ac ir Advisor Dr Reyhane Rikhtegaran r rikhtehgaran@cc iut ac ir 2010 MSC 62N01 62N03 62J02 Keywords interval censored data proportional hazard model additive hazard model partialmaximum likelihood method EM algorithm AbstractToday by the development of studies in medical sciences economics and industry research inthe field of survival analysis has become significant so that more advanced analysis is needed In the collecting survival data the desired event does not usually occur for all the experimentalcases and some of them are excluded from the study so there is a special case of data calledincomplete data that can occur due to censorship One of the common types of censoringmechanism is interad censoring for which the exact time of failure event can not be observedbut is known to fall between two observed times Interval censored failure time data may arisein several ways For instance an individual may miss one or more observation times that havebeen scheduled to clinically observe possible changes in a disease status and then return witha changed status Alternatively individuals may visit clinical centers at times convenient tothem rather than at predetermined observation times In both situations the data on changein status are interval censored A survival analysis specialist is often interested in study the effect of explanatory variableson the time of occurrence of the desired event For this reason regression modeling methods ofsurvival time have been investigated In this dissertation we consider the statistical inference
