56 Synthesis and characterization of palladium complexes with anthracene 9 carbaldehyde O methyl oxime ligand Their interaction with CT DNA and BSA Atefe Bagheri atefebagheriiiii@gmail com January 19 2019 Department of Chemistry Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree MSc Language persianProfessor Kazem Karami Karami@cc iut ac irAbstractThe new alkoxime ligand E anthracene 9 carbaldehyde O methyl oxime 1 derivative of9 anthraldehyde and its palladium II complexes trans Pd C15H10NOCH3 2 OAc 2 2 and cis Pd C15H10NOCH3 Py 2 OAc OAc 3 were synthesized and characterized byspectroscopic techniques including FT IR NMR and elemental analysis The structure ofalkoxime ligand characterized by X ray crystallography Then interaction of them with calfthymus CT DNA and bovine serum albumin BSA was explored using absorption andemission spectral methods Ligand 1 and complex 3 bind strongly to DNA viaintercalation and complex 2 bind to it by groove binding mode The binding modes werefurther confirmed by CD spectra BSA binding aspects of synthesized compounds havebeen studied through various biophysical techniques Furthermore they were assessed forin vitro cytotoxicity testing on the CT 26 and MDA MB231cell lines was carried out Thethree compounds displayed better cytotoxic profiles against CT 26 than MDA MB231cancer cell lines Keywords Oxime trans Palladium Complexes Cytotoxicity site markers biologicalmacromolecules
