Event Triggered Control Using State Estimator Zahra Shahrbaf z shahrbaf@ec iut ac ir 22 may 2019 Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Jafar Ghaisari ghaisari@cc iut ac ir Co supervisor Iman Izadi iman izadi@cc iut ac ir Abstract In the last two decades event triggered control method is considered because of its advantages comprising decreasein data transmission rate decrease in controller computational burden which is appropriate for limited communicationresources and reduction in battery usage In the event triggered control data will be transmitted after the event In thistype of systems an event detection unit calculus condition of event occurrence This condition is determined such that itmeets some requirements like a specific efficiency or system stability So far most event triggered controllers recognizethe event occurrence on the basis of system states but the system states are not always available In this thesis an event triggered controller is proposed using state estimator mode controller System states are estimated based on the measuredoutputs The proposed method is presented to use event triggered control for these systems using estimated state Hence without measuring system states event triggered controller can be used controller is provided For observable systems system states are calculated for each time point using state estimator The event detector uses the estimation of states todetermine the event Also to estimate the states of observable systems Kalman filter is proposed The use of the event triggered control with the proposed method reduces data transmission rate and computational complexity Due to the wideapplications of nonlinear systems the use of event triggered control for a specific class of nonlinear systems is proposed The event detection is determined on the basis of ensuring system stability The proposed method for system stabilityanalysis is based on the Lyapunov rules and considers the minimum permissible amount of time between two consecutiveevents There is also sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of an event triggered controller which stabilizes thesystem These conditions are expressed by linear matrix inequality Therefore the controller design method for the systemis presented by ensuring Stability conditions The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method Key Words Event triggered control State estimates Event detection Controller design
