An Investigation of Hearing Sensitivity via Quantum Entanglement Approach Ghaem Mahmoudi NaserAbad gh mahmoudi@ph iut ac ir July 2 2019 Department of Physics Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree Master of Science Language FarsiSupervisors Vahid Salari Assist Prof vahidsalari@cc iut ac ir Mehdi Abdi Assist Prof mehabdi@cc iut ac ir AbstractIn recent centuries attention has been paid to biological systems to understand their mechanism as well asinspiring them to advance our technologies The auditory system is one of those biological systems that hasattracted the attention of many researchers due to its surprisingly high sensitivity In the past century betterunderstanding on the subject has been achieved thanks to the empirical and theoretical works performed onthe hearing sensitivity mechanism Despite the various suggested mechanisms that are able to explain auditorysensitivity to some extent the attitude of quantum mechanics is the most challenging and yet interesting idea thathas been put forth to explain the mechanism Micro scale features and high working temperatures in the innerear are factors that make it difficult to welcome the quantum attitudes However the results of a theoreticalstudy prove the role of quantum mechanical effects in the auditory system and explain its high sensitivity Accordingly here we propose a full quantum mechanical model to study the aspect Our method relies on thequantum Langevin approach and quantum entanglement In the first step by applying our model the sensitivityof the system and its direct relation with the quantum entanglement are qualitatively confirmed This is anacknowledgment that is a motive for the model to be developed in such a way as to elaborate on the real system KeywordsAuditory system Sensitivity Quantum mechanics Quantum Langevin approach Quantum entanglement
