917 Spatial feasibility and prioritizing suitable sites for solar power plants in North Isfahan province Vahid Pari Badi Vahidpari72@yahoo com Department of Natural Resources Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree MSc Language PersionDr Saeid Pourmanafi spourmanafi@cc iut ac irDr Alireza Soffianian soffianian@cc iut ac irAbstractAccording to increasing need for energy in the most countries renewable energies are on theagenda and the issue of energy supply is one of the most important issues that they are currentlyfacing Currently solar energy is one of the cleanest and renewable energies in the world that isbeing considered and exploited Therefore many experts believe the solution to this problem isthe construction of solar power plants So the first step in the development of solar energy useis to site selection areas where the sites have the optimal solar energy and conditions needed tobuild the solar power plants The purpose of this study was to use a multi criteria evaluationmethod including fuzzy method Boolean linear weight combination hierarchical analysistechnique and TOPSIS technique to identify suitable site selection for solar power plants in Aranand Bidgol Ardestan Khoor and Biabanak Kashan Naein and Natanz in Isfahan province To carry out this study after literature review 4 criteria and 11 sub criteria that are effective insite selection process were selected including climatic criteria sunshine dust days and relativehumidity topographic criteria slope and distance from fault Socio economic criteria distance from residential centers distance from communication routes distance from powerlines and land use and ecological criteria distance from forbidden and protected areas Thenthe data layers and data required were collected prepared and normalized using Fuzzy andBoolean methods According to determination the weight of criteria and sub criteria hierarchical process method has been used and a questionnaire to this purpose was prepared Then using Boolean Fuzzy Weighted Linear Combination and Topsis methods the layerswere integrated and the solar power plant map was obtained in five different classes very good good fair weak or poor for each method was obtained Based on the results of Boolean method2 1 fuzzy method 12 8 Weighted Linear Combination method 9 5 and TOPSIS method9 8 of the total area is obtained suitable for power plant construction Keywords solar energy multi criteria evaluation site selection solar power plants
