AbstractVisual experiences would be processed with assistance of retina whi itself consists of photoreceptors horizontalcells bipolar cells amacrine and ganglion cells One of the methods to regain sight ability of patients who havelost their sight due to retinal degenerative is retinal implant with the creation of action potential via axon ofganglion cells or bipolar cells In this thesis we simulated nerve cells based on compartmental model by using experimental data from bipolarcells of eye retina whi was belonging to a monkey of macaquqe species and geometry of cell based on SWC le whi contains dimension radius partners of ea compartment and determining location and size of di erenttypes of annels whi exist in bipolar cells In compartmental model by considering a di erential equation to ea compartment we can nd potential anges for that compartment By applying two types of constant and alternating current we observed thatnerve cells action potential not showing remarkable anges with consideration geometry of soma but when we anged bipolar cell annel to annels of hodgkin huxley model we observed the e ect of geometry on actionpotential of nerve cell Key words bipolar cells action potential retinal implant retina ganglion cells SWC le compartmental model
