Source and Relay Power Allocation in a MIMO Full Duplex Network with Imperfect Channel Information and Energy Harvesting Sajad Shokoohifard s shokoohi@ec iut ac ir Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Supervisor Dr Ali Mohamad Doost Hoseini alimdh@iut ac irAbstract With the rapid growth and development of information and communication technology the proliferation of applicationsis being tremendously enhanced in various fields including cellular networks internet of things IoT and wireless sensornetworks WSNs As a result the number of users and connected devices is growing unprecedentedly On the other hand the need to communicate with minimal delay high reliability high data rate and ubiquitous accessibility exhorts to overuseresources such as transmission power and bandwidth which in turn means a significant increase in energy consumption In this study a two hop simultaneous wireless information and power transfer SWIPT relay network with a decode and forward DF strategy as a promising solution to improve energy efficiency is considered In order to enhance thespectral efficiency the relay node performs as a separate full duplex FD system and each node is equipped with multipleantennas First the end to end achievable rate is formulated for FD and half duplex HD modes under imperfect channelstate information ICSI Afterwards the optimal closed form expressions for power allocation at the source and relay aswell as the optimal energy harvesting EH ratios are derived for primal variables respect to the dual variables throughanalytical solutions Besides we have proposed an iterative computationally efficient primal dual algorithm based on theEllipsoid method to obtain final numerical answers The numerical results demonstrate the FD achievable rate superiorityunder proper self interference cancellation SIC over the HD mode According to the existing results there is also animmense discrepancy between the achievable rates in perfect CSI PCSI and ICSI cases Also the effect of the relaydistance from the source node the number of antennas and different modes of SIC are investigated in terms of the end to end achievable rate Key Words Achievable Rate MIMO Relay Networks SWIPT Energy Harvesting Full Duplex Systems Imperfect CSI Power Allocation
