Analysis of Image Encryption Algorithms Based on compressive sensing Seyed Hossein Hosseini Date of Submission 2020 9 16 Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Mohammad DakhilalianAbstract Due to the specific nature of the image such as high data volume high compression ability and high cor relation between pixels its encryption is different from text encryption Therefore classical text encryptionmethods are not very proper for image encryption Accordingly many algorithms for image encryption havebeen introduced in recent decades Among these methods Image Encryption Algorithms based on compres sive sensing due to their peculiar ability It has received much attention in the last decade and from the verybeginning of its emergence it has found extensive applications in various fields This theory claims that fewersamples than the Nyquist rate can be sampled under certain conditions without difficulty in reconstruction Inthis method sampling and compression can be done simultaneously that is the signal is compressed from thebeginning and at the same time when the measurement matrix is considered as the encryption key the com pressive sensing can also be considered as an encryption system Therefore compressive sensing security hasreceived much attention in recent years Recent results show that when signals are measured by a completelyrandom matrix in compressive sensing they can provide a kind of information security We first provide abrief description of the compressive sensing and its properties then express some of the views in this area andsecurity assessments Then some image encryption algorithms that have been introduced in recent years andtheir implementation steps are discussed The introduced algorithms and the results of security assessments arealso reviewed These evaluations show that the proposed design for image encryption can provide a reliableand effective method The majority of this thesis attempts to analyze two algorithms one for the gray imageand the other for the color image In these sections based on the existing shortcoming and assuming that theencryption system is available we try to obtain the original image In the end a suitable solution to deal withthis type of attack and improve the introduced algorithms is presented Then to show the improved level of se curity of the algorithm several security assessments assuming the existence of these changes in the algorithm are reviewed and their results are presented Keywords compressive sensing encryption compressive sensing security compressive sensing basedimage encryption security
