67 Separation of reservoir zones by using wireline logging data in one of the wells of the southern squares Sina Eshghinezhad sina eshghinejad@mi iut ac ir Date of Submission February 23 2021 Department of Petroleum Exploration Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 iranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor s De Morteza Tabaei m tabaei@cc iut ac ir Abstract Petrophysical evaluation of reservoir formations is performed based on the interpretationof petrophysical logs and cores in order to evaluate the quality of reservoirs to determine thesequences with appropriate exploitation rates Knowing the type of lithology calculatingreservoir parameters such as shale and clay volume total and effective porosity and degree ofwater saturation in petrophysical assessment to understand the reservoir quality of formationsand reservoir modeling is essential Asmari Formation located in one of the southern squaresas one of the important reservoir formations in the southwestern region of Iran needs to bestudied in drilled wells In the present study an attempt was made to carefully study the sourcesand collect data and well survey information using Geolag software and using the MULTIMINcalculation method lithology of the excavated formation porosity distribution saturation ofWater and hydrocarbon levels are determined and reservoir areas located in the studied welllocated in Asmari Formation are investigated In addition the determination of electrical faciesbased on information obtained from multimine results and the determination of rock type usingcore information in the Asmari Formation were on the agenda For this purpose informationabout the responses of common well well diagrams in the study well including gamma ray caliper resistance density neutron and photoelectric effect well diagrams along with porosityand permeability data from core analysis was provided After the analysis the results showthat the lithology of Asmari Formation in the studied well is mainly dolomite and sandstonewith some lime and a small amount of shale In addition calculations showed that the shalevolume in the studied well in Asmari Formation is very low On the other hand the distributionwas obtained by combining two neutron and density graphs In general in the study formationin the well the porosity is 26 on average It seams Also the results obtained from theanalysis of electrical facies by MRGC method and determination of rock type by FZI methodshowed that there are often 4 zones in the studied well the first zone is generally composed ofdolomite calcite and some shale The second zone is completely anhydrous and the third zoneis mostly composed of sandstone and the last zone is mostly composed of dolomite In general
