Abstract
The earth-air heat exchanger is a geothermal heating and cooling system that uses the
Earth as a heat source and receiver to heat or cool various buildings,
includingcommercial and residential buildings, in different seasons. As well as many
applications of earth-air heat exchanger systems, its design based on the heating and
cooling needs of the building, climate change, and the amount of soil moisture is
important. The right choice of design parameters saves the materials used and leads to
optimal running and performance costs. In this study, the control volume model was
used to simulate the model. In the present proposed model, air humidity and thermal
penetration of heat into the soil are predicted. Then, by using the parameter
optimization algorithm, it is selected so that we have the highest thermal efficiency
according to the coldest day of the year, and by designing the exchanger based on the
coldest day of the year, we can be sure that it will have an acceptable performance on
other days of the year.
