Due to the reduction of high-grade reserves with easy extraction and also the increasing need for highly functional metals such as copper, iron, aluminum, zinc, etc., the extraction of metals from sources with complex concentration is becoming more important day by day. It is not easy to separate zinc and copper minerals from each other in the flotation process, because due to the structure of complex ores such as copper sulfide ores, the hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity of copper and zinc minerals are similar. The aim of this research is to investigate the flotation of copper and zinc massiosulfide ores, in order to obtain separate concentrates of copper and zinc minerals through sphalerite detention in subtractive flotation at Jiroft copper plating factory. For this purpose, sodium cyanide, sodium metabisulfite, zinc sulfate and sodium sulfite disinfectants, synergistic effects of inhibitors as well as factors affecting the inhibitors in the products of different parts of the factory were investigated. After the investigations, it was found that in the concentration of subtractive flotation using the synergy of sodium cyanide with sodium metabisulfite and zinc sulfate in the cleaner product, respectively, in the amount of 750, 4000, 2250 grams of barnet with re-crushing along with inhibitors and also with the effect of oxidation. In pulp aeration and mixing for40 minutes at a pH of 6.5, the grade and recovery of zinc concentrate is 1.5% and 4.1%, respectively, with 5 minutes of foaming. It was also found that the use of sodium cyanide with zinc sulfate has a close result compared to metabisulfite with zinc sulfate and sodium sulfite with zinc sulfate; However, the use of sodium cyanide is not appropriate in terms of safety, environment, and industrial operation control, and it creates new challenges. Therefore, it was tried to replace it by using other inhibitors and necessary changes. For this reason, by using the synergy of sodium metabisulfite, sodium sulfite and zinc sulfate, the recovery and grade of zinc in the final copper concentrate is minimized and is equal to 12.1% and 1.2%, respectively; that the optimal amounts of the mentioned inhibitors are 1500, 2500 and 1000 grams per ton, respectively, at a pH of 10, along with aeration for 40 minutes, in 6 minutes of foaming; that by reducing the time of foaming, the recovery and grade are lower is also obtained. Optimizing initial grinding and re-grinding along with inhibitors, in addition to the proper release of zinc and its better retention, also increases the effectiveness of inhibitors. Also, the presence of aeration in the flotation cell and the use of sodium sulfide wash the surface of the arrested minerals; So that by removing CuS on the sphalerite surface, it has a better effect on zinc retention. Finally, after optimizing the variables, a copper concentrate with a grade of 32% and a total recovery of 94% is obtained; Also, zinc concentrate is obtained after three stages of cleaner, with a grade of 43.2% and a total recovery of 90.8%.
