Today, flowers and plants play an important role in people's lives, so that in addition to their use in decorating homes and apartments, they play a significant role in people's minds and psyches. Plant tissue culture is a method that is used today for mass propagation of plants, especially ornamental plants, which consists of the cultivation of plant cells, tissues and organs in laboratory disinfection conditions and in controlled environmental and nutritional conditions to produce plant masses. In addition to the mass production of plants from the mother plants, this technique leads to the control of pests and diseases, the preservation of genetic diversity, the production of uniform plants without distinguishing traits, and the production of plants in all seasons. In this study, cultivation of ornamental plant Calathea roseopicta CV. Dottie was grown on MS medium containing hormonal compounds and from Saintpaulia ionantha CV. EverGlory was used as a positive control. In Calathea, two explants consist of rhizome containing eye buds and leaves were used. In the rhizome explants, after disinfection with 70% alcohol, 30% sodium hypochlorite and 0.3% mercury chloride, 15 hormonal compounds containing BAP (0, 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mg/liter) and NAA (0, 0.5 and 1 mg/L) were used with three repetitions, but the results showed no signs of direct or indirect regeneration. In the leaf explant, after dividing the leaf into 1 x 1 cm pieces and disinfecting them, 147 hormonal compounds including BAP (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 10, 20, and 40 mg per liter) and 2-4-D, IBA and NAA (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 10, 20, and 40 mg/liter) were used, but no signs of direct or indirect regeneration were observed. Two explants of African violet which was used as a positive control in this research, including petiole and leaf were used. For each explant, after disinfection with 70% alcohol and 10% sodium hypochlorite, 18 hormonal compounds containing NAA (0, 0.2 and 0.5 mg/liter) and BAP (0, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 mg/liter) were used. Leaf explants started to regenerate directly after 20 days and petiole explants after one month. After three months, only in the treatment of BAP=0 mg/liter + NAA=0.2 mg/liter, and in the treatment of BAP=0 mg/liter + NAA=0.5 mg/liter, independent seedlings containing roots, stems and leaves were produced, so that the produced seedlings can be transferred in flower pots. In these treatments, the maximum average length of leaf and petiole was obtained. In general, it can be concluding that in leaf explants, the length of productive shoots increases with the increase of NAA hormone, while the increase of BAP hormone levels leads to the decrease of the length of productive shoots in a certain period of time.
