AbstractDesign of controllers is one of the branches of the control science which has manyapplications in various industries and processes ill practice there is a need forcontrollers that guarantee the stability and satisfactory performance of systems Nowadays there are a wide variety of different approaches for designing variouscontrollers Although the performance of these controllers is satisfactory undernormal conditions they could lose their efficiency due to the outage of some controlelements such as sensors or actuators A controller which can tolerate these faults andperforms properly with the aid of the remaining actuators and sensors is called areliable controller ill this thesis great attention is paid to solving two issues alongwith having a comprehensive study of H approach in the design of reliablecontrollers for linear systems At first the problem of designing a reliable H controller for linear systems with state delay and parameter uncertainty in all matricesis considered Subsequently this problem is solved for linear systems with onlyparameter uncertainty by linear matrix inequality approach Finally some examplesare given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods I S j v Ir i Ji I 4 f J
