ijiIIIIIB Abstract In this study the storage effect of two pupal stages white eyed and red eyed stages at 4 8 and 12 C on some biological and quality characteristics of Trichogramma brassicae Bezdenko was investigated Firstly duration of different pupal stages was detennined Different biological and quality attributes to the parasitoid was detennined by rearing a large number of parasitized eggs until white eyed pupal stage 5 days after being parasitized and until red eyed pupal stage 7 days after being parasitized at 25 C 70 f 5 R H and 16L 8D Then parasitoids were transferred to the incubator with 4 8 and 12 C at the same conditions The control treatments were kept in 25 C Every week four samples of parasitized eggs each contained 150 200 eggs that were sticked on the paper tapes of each treatment in the above storage temperatures were selected and were kept in the laboratory condition The emergence rate of the parasitoids was calculated Sexual ratio was recorded in each storage week with three replicates The percentage of shortwing females was calculated The longevity and fecundity of female parasitoid was detennined Fecundity was calculated by counting the parasitized eggs The number of females progeny produced by each female was calculated By calculating mx and other parameters the fertility life table of parasitoids was detennined Every month totally 4 months percentage parasitism in the first 24 hours ofparasitoids c longevity was calculated The results showed that the storage in temperatures under 25 C 4 8 and 12 C for a long period causes a bad effect on the quality and survival of the parasitoid While the significant interaction of temperature x stage showed that the storage of each pupal stage requires a special temperature The emergence rate of 7 brassicae stored in 12 C and in the white eyed pupal stage up to 4 weeks was more than the other treatments and in different temperatures pupal stages had different effect The temperature of storage did not have significant effect on sexual ratio After 5 weeks stage and time as well as temperature did not have a significant effect on sexual ratio but the interaction of temperature x stage and stage x time was significant and the least amount of sexual ratio was related to 8 C and red eyed pupal stage The most amount of shortwing females were observed in the above condition A storage period more than 3 weeks in 4 C at the white eyed pupal stage caused a significant increase in the longevity of females In the bove temperature and stage of 6 weeks the most amount of fecundity was observed in parasitoids The temperature in 2 months storage did not have a significant effect on percentage parasitism but time and interaction of stage x time was significantly effective on percentage parasitism Storage in red eyed pupal stage in the second month reduced the percentage parasitism Fertility life table showed that storage is one of the factors which reduces the biological attributes in parasitoids Comparison of intrinsic rate of increase showed that parasitoids stored in 4 C in white eyed pupal stage could tolerate storage for a longer period up to 7 weeks with the stabili ty of intrinsic rate of increase 1 v v l
