AbstractIn this project advantages of application of composite materials in the bo yshell of apassenger rail vehicle have been studied Thus to use the composites in the bodyshellparts of a rail vehicle a hybrid structure has been suggested This design is comprised of acomposite bodyshell including walls roof and floor with a metallic underframe for thesubstructure of the vehicle which result in a hybrid solution For the composite parts of thebodyshell a sandwich design has been proposed The constituents of these compositematerials are based on polymeric plastics with glass fibers Static loading of this hybridstructure according to relevant standards has been analysed Finally manufacturingmethods for the suggesteddesign have been considered d I u iJi 1 tt t
