ABSTRACT Nowadays Networked Control Systems widely have been used in refineries power plants automobile industries steel industries etc for increasing the systems speed and facilitate incommunications process NCS have many advantagessuchas reducing systemwiring easeofsystemdiagnosis and maintenance increasing speed of configuration finding the fault easilyin system and so on Fire Wire Device Net CAN Profibus FOUNDATIONTM Fieldbusnetworks are used for implementing the NCSs In many industrial processessuch as chemicaland oil industries performance degradation of the NCS can be dangerous for personnel andequipments For this reason designing of the system should be perfectly safe In the otherword when a malfunction occurs the systemmust lead to a predefined safety state The layer design for FOUNDATIONTM Fieldbus to achieve the Safety Integrity Level3 ofIEC 61508 standard has analyzed and has beendefined in this project This layer is the sameas Profisafe and defines in the application layer of F F The propose of this thesis is studying this safety layer its delay and the effect of this delay on the performance of control loop andits stability And at the end it offers proposals for decreasingdelay c II i r Jv t
