AbstractIn this work phenolic acids were extracted from fruit and fruit juice samples by solventmicroextraction technique Extraction were done by 2 5 L of hexyl acetate which issuspendedfrom the needle tip of a 10 0 L syringe Cinnamic acid o coumaric acid caffeicacid and p hydroxy benzoic acid were used as the model compounds The analytes wereextracted from a 3 mL sample solution using 2 5 L of hexyl acetate The extracted phenolicacids were derivatized inside the syringe barrel using O L of N O Bis trimethyl silyl 7acetamide BSA before injection in to the GC MS The influence of derivatization conditionon the yield of in syringe silylation was studied Volume of O 7 L of BSA reagent at ambienttemperature and a 10 min reaction time was used for in syringe derivatization reaction Experimental SDME parameter such as selection of organic solvent solvent volume extraction time extraction temperature pH and ionic strength of the solution on the extractionperformance were studied The best extraction efficiency was obtained using 2 5 L volume ofhexyl acetate stirring rate of 300 rpm extraction time of 20 min solution temprature of 220 C salt concentration of 0 30 g mL I at pH 2 0 RSD dynamic linear range and detection limitof the method for all compounds are lower than 11 9 7 9984 J 1g and 0 6 164 0 g L 1 L 1respectively The proposed method was applied for the determination of phenolic acids in fruit t fi IJ VJ IJ 1 and fruit juice samples r 1 r
