Abstract In this project we investigate the synthesis of ZrO2 TiO2 mixed oxide by sol geltechnique and with Zrrri 1 molar ratio by using surfactant as template The obtainedmixed oxide has an amorphous structure and showed better catalytic activities in comparewith the mixed oxides prepared via co precipitation route Surfactant addition caused anincrease in surface area and improved the catalytic properties of this mixed oxide Thismaterial has been loaded with various amounts of phosphoric acid and was applied as acatalyst in Beckman rearrangement of cyclohexanone OXIme in vapor phase and showed ahigh selectivity toward caprolactam and high oxime conversion In this project the ZSM 5 zeolites were synthesized with different molar ratios ofSiO2 Al2O3 Afterward ZSM 5 zeolites have been modified by two techniques with andwithout surfactant by impregnation of phosphoric acid on this zeolite To compare thereactivity and selectivity of tliese catalysts which prepared by two method these catalystshave been used in Fnes rearrangement of phenylacetate and toluene alkylation withmethanol and 2 propanol and the results showed that the selectivity of ZSM 5 has beenincreasedtoward 4 hydroxyacetophenoneU para xylene and para cymene which this effectis induced on surfactant modified ZSM 5 zeolite by phosphoric acid In addition to mentioned zeolites and zrO2 TiO2 mixed oxide and use of thesematerials in various reactions the synthesis of very important MCM 41 molecular sievewith SiO2 AhO3 20 molar ratio was investi ated MCM 41 molecular sieves have beenactivated with phosphoric acid and were used m toluene benzylation with benzyl alcohol invapor phase This catalyst showed a high selectivity toward monoalkylated tolueneproducts and also showed a high benzyl alcohol conversion after optimizing the reactionconditions In this section of this project zrO2 TiO2 mixed oxide nanoparticles and Au Ag andAu Ag alloy metal nanoparticles by two methods of reverse micelle microemulsion andcopolymer micelles have been synthesized respectively In micro emulsion method byusmg the AOT surfactant in n hexane solution reverse micelles obtained which byaddition of appropriate amount of water to this solution each micelle playa micro reactorrole to hydrolysis the zirconium and titanium alkoxides The cores of the micelles arehydrophilic and the water immigrates inside the micelles and by changing the watercontent we are able to control the size of the particles Nanoparticles of ZrO2 TiO2 mixedoxide with various particle size 20 70 nm have been used to investigate the particles sizeeffect on their catalytic activity in Beckman rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime invapor phase and interesting results was obtained which showed that by reducing theparticle size from micrometer to nanometer scale the catalytic activity of this catalystsmcreasesup to 400 1 J 1l Lf I o I J Ig
