AbstractHigh costs for the construction of park and green spaces and great importance attached to theecological relationships show the great significance of proper site selection for parks andgreen spaces Site selection shall be made in such a way to provide easy access to these placesfor all citizens This action will become more important when the population is on theincrease the cities are growing more and there is not a uniform distribution of population invarious areas of the city If the proper site selection for parks is made in view of the requiredper captia there will be lower rate of commutation in the various areas of the city especially inthe highly populated areas The site selection of parks has properly been made if the parks areconstructed in the vicinity of highly populated administrative residential educational andhealth areas and the main streets Several factors such as population density far or closedistance to streets distance from highly populated areas and value of land are considered inprocess of site selection It should be noted that the parks should not be constructed in the main trading centers administrative and educational centers or within the distance of 100 meters of the main parks The studies made for this research have shown that the said factors have different effects onthe site selection for parks Experts opinions also approve this view Analytical Hierarchical Process AHP is a better method for the valuation of the abovefactors because of experts opinions pair comparison and modeling of qualitative andquantitative criteria The site selection is made for parks on the AHP basis After making a review of the various indexing methods such as fuzzy logic Boolean methodand index overlay it was found that the fuzzy logic has been recognized the best The resultsof the indexing have shown that the proper site selection can be made for parks with using thismodel This model will provide access for more people and reduce the land appropriationcosts of parks construction to the minimum
