Abstract Most systems such as electrical and electronic circuits are faced with some constraints These constraints may be related to input signal output signal or state variables In thiswork we consider those systems that have constraints in their inputs Neglecting thisconstraint in the controller design will cause undesirable performance and in the worstcase instability In order to design a controller for these systems we can use linear ornonlinear methods In the nonlinear approach the constraint on the input will beconsidered as a saturation block in the plant input and then a nonlinear controller will bedesigned In the linear case the controller is designed in such a way that the plant inputdoes not exceed the rated value and the process stays in linear mode Since the process islinear in this case it must be assumed that the reference input is bounded This assumptiondoes not put any limitation on most systems On the other hand most processes are uncertain and the robust control of these systemsis of great importance One method for designing a robust controller is H loop shapingthat has been generalized for constrained input systems In this thesis after studying thismethod a new method will be proposed based on defining a virtual uncertainty and use of synthesis In this method the virtual uncertainty parameters are determined by geneticalgorithm in one of the modes Two controllers are designed by the use of proposedmethod and generalized H loop shaping for the buck boost converter The effects ofcontrollers on the precise model are then simulated and the results are compared
