AbstractAccording to the low amount of fresh water in the world and limited access like polarices and atmosphere humidity surface water management is needed Unfortunately effluent of sanitary and industrial waste waters to rivers has attackedthe environment For example changing of ecological attitude causes death of fishesand increasing of bottom algae in the rivers Surface water quality simulation andoptimizing of waste water treatment percent are important objects in watermanagement In this thesis two softwares namely Qual2k and Genetik were used forsimulation and optimization Both of them are in the form of Excel software and haveVisual Basic language Optimizing of waste water treatment percent was done withGenetic Algorithm method and so Genetik software was used In this thesis twoparameters of water quality namely BOD and DO were spotted and 8 5 mg l and 5mg l were high limitation and low limitation for BOD and DO respectively FastCBOD decay coefficient K was calibrated because of its effect on Qual2k softwareresults for BOD and DO parameters and 1 4 1 day was calculated Uncertaintyanalyses were used in two forms for it According to number of effluents Discharge quality characters and treatment cost of each effluent scope function was formed scope function was minimizing of effluent treatment cost and conservation of waterquality condition in the river According to changing of scope function because ofchanging in population max generation crossover coefficient and mutationcoefficient these parameters were calibrated and quantity and domain of 50 100 80 100 0 8 0 001 for genetic algorithm with high population and max generation and 0 01for genetic algorithm with low and medium population and max generation wereoffered
