English abstract Chatter models were constructed by combining the new rolling process models withtwo proposed structure models for the mill stand which are 1 uni modal structuremodel 2 uni directional multi modal structure model mechanism that lead to chattersuch as negative damping and regenerative effect were studied using the establishedchatter models In standalone or in tandem configuration Stability analysis wascarried out for each mechanism by matlab and simulink code A new delay describeas an important parameters that lead to accrue chatter in rolling mill A series ofsimulation based on the proposed chatter models was carried out to verify theirpredictive ability as well to investigate chatter phenomena too complicated to studyanalytically The accuracy of the proposed chatter model was also verified by comparingsimulation results obtained under the same condition as the performed experiments with the corresponding experimental results
