Abstract In our study at first a model of human body exposed to vertical vibration has beeninvestigated and the model parameters have been found without using experimentaldata A good agreement between the natural frequencies of model and theexperimental natural frequencies has been observed Then the main problem has been investigated and the best model of human bodyhas been used for the problem The contact damping and stiffness coefficients havebeen optimized to minimize potential energy of body during vertical vibration In nextstep weighting function method has been used for a problem with two objectivefunctions One of these objective functions is potential energy of body and anotherone is displacement or acceleration of head The various positions of body have beeninvestigated For example standing on two feet for the position which the person isstanding in a vibratory environment or standing on one foot when the person isrunning or walking and also seating posture when a person is seating in car Theoptimization has been done in both frequency and time domain and the optimumcontact damping and stiffness coefficients have been found Finally these results have been used to design an optimum model of shoe Theeffect of this optimization in some factors that are important in human comfort hasbeen investigated like displacement and acceleration of different part of body and theinitial force of each segment and their diagram before and after optimization has beenploted Keywords Human Body Vertical Vibration Tranction Function Natural Frequency Resonance Model Parameters Damping Stiffness Frequency Response Time Domain PotentialEnergy Absorbed Energy Impact Pulse Optimization Genetic Algorithm GradientBase Shoe Model Acceleration Displacement Initial Force DampingEnergy Weighting Function Method
