AbstractUsing both mean eld theory and high resolution Monte Carlo simulation technique based on multi histogram method we have investigated the critical properties of an antiferromagnetic XY modelon the 2D Kagome lattice subjected with single ion easy axes anisotropy While the mean eldcalculation results in a second order phase transition to all in all out state for any value of anisotropy the simulations show that the order of transition would change to rst order for small values ofanisotropy terms indicating the existence of a tricritical point for this model The critical exponentsfor second order transitions are also obtained using nite scale theory
