AbstractSecurity is one of most important humanity challenges nowadays Some techniqueshave been introduced to improve the security of strategic places such as borders airports military sites museums factories and so on Microwave intrusion detectionsystems for perimeter protection are one solution The system consists of a bistatictransmitter and receiver If an intruder enters the detection zone and obstructs the path the received power will change By analysis of the received power level the systemcan detect real intrusion or false targets In this thesis we introduce the microwave intrusion system specifications andparameters and two methods of power level processing Using some suitablepropagation models we estimate the received power in rest condition and at thepresence of an obstacle say a human The transmitter and receiver circuits aredesigned and simulated using ADS and their layouts are presented Finally somesuggestions are made for improving the system quality and reliability
