AbstractThe main objective of this Msc Research is stability analysis and support design oftwo diversion tunnels connected with Kamandan reservoir dam located 15 km westof Azna in Lorestan province These two tunnels pass through metamorphosedandesite and limestone In this research parameter calculation in the suggestedsupport model was achieved using classical methods of engineering rock massclassification The modeling was done in 3DEC software using geotechnical data andassociated boundary conditions In three phases before drilling just after and consequently after installing the supportsystem calculations were accomplished and in each phase all stresses anddisplacements around the tunnels were calculated In the final phase by exertingearthquake loads the stability of tunnels after installing the support system wasdetermined The achieved result showed that the displacements should be transferredtowards the floor of tunnel and therefore it is necessary to support with using aninvert The analysis of the used shotcrete and net bolts showed that they are strongenough and no more support is required
