AbstractThe main objective of this research is to determine the most important climatic elementsinfluencing on distribution of Artemisia sieberi and Artemisia aucheri using multivariate statisticalmethods in Isfahan province with an area equal to 106175 square kilometers therefore a databaseof 39 climatic elements with great importance in relation with ecological condition of Artemisiasieberi and Artemisia aucheri was prepared A 14 14 kilometers geographical network was appliedand 523 points were determined Reduction of data matrix using factor analysis varimax rotation and climate zonation by hierarchical cluster analysis of ward method were the next steps of theresearch Results from this research indicate 3 factors Including rainfall temperature and shiningwith 41 91 40 18 and 10 23 percent respectively to cover 92 3 percent of total variance Usingthese factor scores 7 bioclimatic zones were determined in Isfahan province as 1 humid and cold2 semi humid and cold 3 semi arid and cold 4 semi arid and warm 5 warm and arid andwindy 6 warm and arid 7 very warm and arid The average of elementary climatic variables inthis regions were determined Then 4 most important type of distribution of Artemisia aucheri andsieberi in Isfahan province revealed as 1 Artemisia aucheri and Astragalus 2 Artemisia sieberi3 Artemisia sieberi as a dominant species 4 Artemisia sieberi as a sub dominant species Theeffects of climatic factors and variables on distribution of these species were determined Theeffects of factor analysis on these typies show that rainfall and temperature are the most importantfactors in distribution of Artemisia aucheri and Artemisia sieberi in Isfahan province Artemisiaaucheri and Artemisia sieberi make a most appearance In semi humid and cold region and warmand dry region Generally Artemisia aucheri has a limited ecological range as compared withArtremisia sieberi Elevation range of Artemisia aucheri is 2048 to 2868 meters but Artemisiasieberi seems in almost all climatic regions except for humid and cold region in Isfahan province Elevation range of distriburion of Artemisia sieberi in Isfahan province is 750 to 2271 thereforethis species has an extended tolerance range in compare with Artemisia aucheri and couldmentioned as a nearly cosmopolite species Key words Artemisia sieberi Artemisia aucheri climate variables multivariate statisticalmethods Isfahan province
