138AbstractGool of this project is to compare physical mechanical chemical and heating properties of NR SBRblend cured by sulfur and electron beam radiation physical and mechanical properties tensilestrength Elogation tear strength hardness abrasion resiliance compression set and chemicalproperties chemical resistance rubber blend swelling percentage heating properties ageing intwo curing systems were studied and compared Factorial design has been used in sulfur curingsystem main effects and interaction effects of curing factors on different properties were determinedand an appropriate model for predicting properties was developed Then curing system is replacedby electron beam and effects of dose changesto 400 kGy on physical mechanical chemical andheating properties were studied after increasing electron beam dose to300kGy and increasingcrosslinking density properties were improved and to 400kGy properties such as tensile strengthbefore and after ageing chemical resistance and resiliance did not change but abrasion percentageincreased This shows that optimom doses for curing this blend is 300kGy Acomparision shows thatsulfur cured sampels have better properties and this is related to high unsaturation of NR SBR blendand its readiness to be sulfur cured
