111AbstractIn this research requirements of textile composite castings used forimmobilizing a damaged limb have been studied as the first step In thesecond step properties of casts used until now was assessed After that afabric composite was made using a new knitted fabric and textured yarnwhich was not used before This composite had suitable properties That oftexture was simple and cheap Properties of materials and the structure used were studied using mechanicaltests Inherent characteristics such as tensile and flexural and structuralproperties like compression strength in cylindrical construction of the castingswere assessed Results indicate that the use of textured yarns instead of flat yarns increasesthe amount of resin in fabrics resulting an increase in compression strength ofcomposite in cylindrical structure Furthermore it decreases tensile modulusof fabrics Properties of the castings produced were compared with a valid commercialcasting named Nemoa Sample with textured warp and weft and lineardensity 1500 den of weft had the best physical and mechanical propertiesbetween produced samples That of properties was much more like thecommercial one
