AbstractsThis study was conducted to investigate the genotype environment interactioneffects on yield and other agronomic traits of wheat Ten cultivars of wheat wereevaluated in 8 environments combinations of two levels of nitrogen and fourirrigation regimes in growing season of 2006 2007 at the Research Farm of IsfahanUniversity of Technology The results of combined analysis of variance showedsignificant differences among the environments for fertile panicles per m2 seeds perpanicle 1000 grain weight and grain yield High genetic differences were foundamong the cultivars for days to heading plant height fertile panicles per m2 seeds perpanicle 1000 grain weight grain yield and harvest index Pishtaz Moghan1 Falat Darab and Khazar cultivars had higher seed yield 9 27 9 1 8 6 8 55 8 48 t ha respectively Genotypes had different responses to changes of environments andthere was significant genotype environment interaction for all studied traits exceptdays to heading and plant height Different methods of stability analysis includingWrick ecovalance Shukla stability variance Eberhart and Russel regression AMMIand path analysis Tai s method were applied to investigate the genotype environment interaction and to identify the stable genotypes Wrick ecovalance andShukla stability variance presented similar classifications of cultivars Among thehigh yielding cultivars Pishtaz Falat and Darab were more stable and Pishtaz withthe lowest genotype environment interaction effect and the highest yield was themost stable cultivar Roshan and Omid cultivars had lower ecovalance and stabilityvariance but because of their lower yield were considered as poor stable cultivars Alvand and Moghan1 cultivars with high ecovalance and stability variance were theleast stable cultivars Based on the stability parameters of Eberhart and Russel linearregression coefficient and deviation from regression mean square Pishtaz andMoghan1 that had higher yield than the average and nearly b 1 were more adaptedcultivars However Khazar and Alvand cultivars showed specific adaptation to morerich environments and Falat Darab and Roshan had specific adaptation to poorenvironments Analysis of additive main effects analysis of variance andmultiplicative interaction effects principal component analysis revealed that theeffects of genotype environment and genotype environment interaction were highlysignificant and the first three principal components explained 89 of sum of squaresfor genotype environment interaction The biplot of the first interaction principalcomponent IPC1 with each of mean yields of genotypes and environments and alsothe results of cluster analysis based on scores of the first interaction principalcomponent showed that Pishtaz Moghan1 and Khazar cultivars had lower IPC1 andPishtaz and Moghan1 with higher seed yields were recognized as the most stablecultivars however Alvand and Sabalan cultivars were unstable Also based on thebiplot of IPC2 and yield means of genotypes Pishtaz cultivar with the lowest IPC2 andthe highest mean yield was the most stable cultivar Cluster analysis based on stabilityparameters of AMMI3 model SIPC3 and EV3 and mean yield of genotypes showed
