AbstractThe landscape pattern is made by land use and land cover arrangment and is dynamic Changedetection in spatial pattern is so essential for better understanding of landscape dynamic duringthe time as well as landuse planning and reaching the conservation aims By producing of landuse and land cover map during the time we are getting to know the landscape pattern and we canunderstand its changes and the relationship between its fitments Today satellite data provideapplied data for this aim land use and land cover changes detection of area can help themanagers to perform proper management along with considering trade of past changes of thearea Moteh wildlife refuge has proper habitats for big ungulates and one of the most important isIranian deer In this research we used the satellite images of MSS 1351 TM 1366 1377 andalso LISS III 1385 the images were selected form spring season and the first half of Khordad because the vegetation has the biggest crown at this time the images of MSS were selected fromsummer because of the limitation of this images For preparation images the most recent imagewas georeferenced with a 1 25000 map and the other images were georeferenced according tothat RMSE was below one in all cases with resampling method images resolution changed into30 meters Topography correction was done using DEM and Lamberti model land use and landcover maps was produced with hybrid clussification method the land cover map was producedby field sampling and using SAVI Vegetation index for each image in 4 classes Also bamboo residential areas farms and gardens and crop farms layers of the area was provided by using GIS RS techniques Mining usage was prepared by reclassification of second component of PCA The sultlands and rocks and stones layers were produced in first component of PCA Shiest layerwas produced by the result of supervised classification on images Ultimately the provided layerswere combined using GIS techniques and land use and land cover map was produced for eachimages The accuracy of produced maps was between 80 95 for changes detection the mapswere overlaied Then the changes were determined between 1351 1366 and 1399 1377 and 1377 1385 and 1351 1385 The results of changes detection showed that in 1385 comparison to 1351 in most parts of the area the crown area of class 2 has decreased and the crown area of class 4 i e the cover of above 40 increased specially in core areas More over during a research period mining area increased 400 In addition the area of residential increased from 9 to 249 ha In thisperiod in 1366 the area was at its best situation in terms of vegetation and the precipitationdiagram shows a wet period in 1370s Also in 1377 the area was in its most critical circumstanceand precipitation diagram of the area shows a drought period in 1380s Generally human usage inthe area has upward trade that lead to declining the importance of variable areas for wildlife ofMoteh
