AbstractNowdays the subject of supply chain and the related topics is encountering increasinginterest in both the academic and managerial ambits The topic of performancemeasurement because of it s important role in controlling and directing the operations isone of the most important issues of these related topics Food supply chain is one kind ofsupply chains that because of it s complexity importance and it s role in people life needsan special attention Meat industry is also one of the food industry which haveencountered interest because of it s important place in Iran In this research the meat supply chain and it s characteristics in Iran community have beenstudied By regarding the segments of this chain and key factors of it some suitableindexes have been developed for the performance measurement of this chain in strategicand tactical level and a method for ranking of this indexes have been prepared In this research the most important indexes in strategic and tactical level in whole chainand in each segment have been proposed Also the Balanced Scorecard have been surveyed by regarding the especial characteristicsof this chain and the ranking of it s aspects in this situation have been appointed
