AbstractIn this research work the dyeability of acrylic fabric with direct dyes and copper sulfateand evaluation of their antistatic property was investigated On the acrylic fabrics pre mordanting dyeing and post mordanting treatments was carried out The effect ofdifferent factors that may affect the dye affinity of acrylic fabrics such as composition ofcopper sulfate with Rongalite Lodigol acid and time temperature conditions in pre mordanting stage and the effect of dyeing PH range water hardness using DMF on theacrylic fabric before dyeing time boiling in dyeing stage was studied In last washing fastness of post mordanted acrylic fabric and fixed by Fixanol PN and antistaticproperty of untreated pre mordanted dyed and post mordanted was measured It wasshown that in pre mordanting stage the effect of using Rongalite Lodigol and acidaccompanied by copper sulfate and in dyeing stage the changes of PH hardness water boiling time from one direct dye to other direct dye is different Using DMF on pre mordanted acrylic fabric before dyeing decrease dye affinity Different percentage ofcopper sulfate on dyed acrylic fabric were used to increase washing fastness in some dyesusing more than 0 5 copper sulfate increased staining on cotton It was shown thatelectrical conductive of post mordanted is more than antreated acrylic fabric
