AbstractWorking as supports journal bearing are usually used in rotating machines Different shearstress in different parts of the lubricant leads to the creation of a hot spot on the rotor whichinside the journal bearing position Since local heat is formed at the heat transfer should betaken into account in order to analysis the rotor dynamic in this case In this thesis theforce and thermal effects of the journal bearing have been investigated on the basis of thefinite element model For analyzing the problem equivalent damping and stiffnesscoefficients have been calculated By calculating the equivalent heat moments thermaleffects for journal bearing has been taken into account in the rotor vibration equations The3D model of finite elements has been used to solve the equation of heat transfer In order tomodel the rotor in dynamic analysis the 3D beam element has been used The generalalgorithm of the program is a transient solution The transient solution of the transient ofthe rotor vibration and heat is included in each time step A sample of a real rotor systemand journal bearings have been considered to confirm the validity while the results of theprogram have been compared with the results taken from the date available
