AbstractThe main objective of this research is to determine the most important climaticelements influencing on distribution of plant types in Charmahal province usingmultivariate statistical methods and geographical information system This province isan area equal to 16532 square kilometers bounds within 31 degrees and 9 minutes to32 degrees and 48 minutes latitude and also 49 degrees and 28 minutes to 51 degreesand 25 minutes longitude For this purpose a database of 71 climatic elements withgreat importance in relation with ecological condition of plant types was prepared Wherease the most adaptable network size a 10 10 Kilometers geographical networkwas applied and 73 points were determined Results of climatic analysis generalizedto zones when point data change to zone data by Kriging method Reduction of datamatrix is one main purpose of factor analysis method KMO is an indicator thatprepares observed correlation and partial correlation In this resourch KMO was0 847 so factor analysis can supplies receivable results Cluster analysis is a lable forseries of mathematical methods that classify similar componants in the same clusters Reduction of data matrix using factor analysis with varimax rotation of independentrotations and climate zonation by hierarchical cluster analysis of ward method werethe next steps of the research then discriminant analysis calculated average of factorscores Results obtained from this research indicate that 3 factors includingtemperature rainfall and shining with 53 02 35 1 and 3 7 percent of variancerespectively together with plant cover form 91 82 percent of total variance Usingthese factor scores 5 bioclimatic zones in charmahal province were determined These zones are as follows 1 humid and moderate bioclimatic zone 2 semi humidand cold bioclimatic zone 3 very humid and cold and high bioclimatic zone 4 semihumid and warm bioclimatic zone 5 semi arid and cold bioclimatic zone The effectsof climatic factors and variables on distribution of these species were determined Theeffects of factor analysis on these types show that temperature and rainfall are themost important factors in distribution of plant types in charmahal province Quercusbrantii make a most appearance in humid and moderate and also semi humid andwarm bioclimatic zones Elavation range of this Quercus is 860 to 1900 meters Thismeans that it changes more than 1000 meters However variant species of Astragalushave an extended tolerance range It seems that this species are in almost all climateregions Present research appears utility of multivariate statistical methods andgeographical information system in appointment intensity of climatic factorseffective of plant species distribution and dispersion and also appointment variousbioclimatic zones of Charmahal province corresponding primitive and usual methods Results appear supporting climatic conditions of all of species in all of bioclimaticzones Forest species don t appear in very humid and cold and high bioclimatic zone This means that elevation and very cold winter and rainfall snow and rain cause Forest species don t appear in semi humid and cold bioclimatic zone and also semiarid and cold bioclimatic zones This means that reduction of rainfall in these zonesratio other zones causes
