AbstractIn the competitive world the success of any business depends on the performance of itssupply chain Many researchers have investigated the Supply Chain Management SCM inrecent decades Traditionally every echelon in a supply chain is assumed to operateindependently But with widening the need to suppliers business firms need to cooperatewith their trading partners for success Today understanding how manager s decisions impact the global performance of thesupply chain is a challenging topic in this field As a result of dynamic nature of the supplychain dynamic modeling is important and system dynamics is a successful tool tounderstand the dynamic behavior of such a complex system The objective of this thesis is a dynamic approach to supply chain with the case study ofIsfahan meat supply chain Production and distribution model introduced by Forrster hasbeen used in this thesis and has been extended to investigate the effect sof initial materialsupply In fact the purpose is the dynamic modeling of this large supply chain and to testand analysis some scenarios on the model to develop a good insight to current managerialproblems and their solutions The study shows current high meat supply as the result of last year drought causes adecrease in the level of available cattle in future Decline in the cattle level will contractthe capacity of meat production and so the price will increase Some scenarios in relation to studying bullwhip effect with the increase in demand anddecrease of the system delays have been defined and tested in this model This can beconcluded that decrease in delays reduce bullwhip effect Capacity augmentation of factoryalso has been analyzed as a scenario
