Assesment definition of exploration criteria at Khoor Jandagh zone and its application in locating similar target areas in a GIS environment Somaieh Akbar Sa 3761@gmail com Date of Submission 11 March 2009 Mining Engineering Department Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisor Hooshang Asadi Harooni Nader Fathian PourAbstractStudy area is located in the Khoor Jandaq metallogenic zone in the east of Isfahan province of Iran This zone comprises different types of metal resources including copper iron lead poly metal as soas nonmetal resources talk mica precious stones Studying of specifications of resources generalparticulars of metallogeny zone and regional geology result Conception model of differentmineralization In this research at first a spatial digital database is prepared from all data source include remotesensing geology geochemistry aeromagnetic structural maps and existing mineral resources Forextraction of various alteration related whit mineralization different methods of image processing isused as band ratio relative absorption band depth spectral angle mapper spectral feature fitting andspectral index As a result alterations of argillite sericite K feldspar silicification alunitization chloritization and iron oxides are obtained and each one as a separate layer is utilized in a GIS model Several lithological units are produced from geological maps 1 100000 scales for integrationmodel then weight of each unit was determined using conceptual model Aeromagnetic data isobtained in 1974 to 1977 processed with analytical signal and reduce to the pole techniques and usedfor potential mapping Geochemical layer is prepared from anomaly haloes of various elements suchas Cu Pb Ni Mo Ag and Hg that was identified by Russian Technoexport Company Structurecontrollers fault and lineaments resulted from geological maps 1 100000 and by processing Asterimages For optimization usage of structure in composite model two layers buffered structural andlineament density maps were presented Buffer maps were prepared from major fault and lineamentdensity maps from from minor faults and lineament In the next stage an integrated analysis of different exploration layers were used by using FuzzyLogic and Weights of Evidence methods to map high potential regions copper lead zinc etc forfurther exploration In the Fuzzy Logic method weights of exploration layers were assigned on thebasis of the knowledge about different types of mineralization geological characteristics of theregion and results of weight of evidence model for each layer In this method two different modelsof fuzzy integration designed for generation of Fe Mn and Poly metal potential maps Withconformity and comparison of potential maps resulted from both models It appears that in theCentral and Western part of the study area there area high potential zones associated with poly metalmineralization and in the Eastern zone relate with Fe Mn mineralization Field follow up explorationin the Central zone confirmed the presence of poly metal mineralization as well as a large area of K feldspar which need further detailed exploration Key WordsMineralization Synthesize Integration model Fuzzy Logic Weights of Evidence Khoor Jandaq
