CLSP development with considering robustness measures Mahsa Yazdani Sabouni yazdani mahsa@gmail com 1388 02 02 Department of Industrial Systems Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 IranDegree M ScBijari M bijari@in iut ac ir Abstract A common problem arising in production planning is the fact that the designed plan isoften disrupted by several uncontrollable factors As a result companies are often unable to meetthe promised lead time of goods This issue often appears when main plan is constructed due tothe certainty assumption in parameters of problem So it is essential to take into accountuncertainty in production planning One of the important approaches in this issue is constructingrobust production plan Generally this approach tries to construct robust production plan byconsidering uncertainty in such a way that any variations can t make disruption in it as far aspossible So this schedule remains valid It is obvious if we want to use this method in a factory it is better to be applicable to real conditions For this reason by considering simultaneouslyuncertainty in demands some methods have been offered in construction of robust production planning In this research the focus is on the medium term production planning and especially onsingle level lot sizing decisions Uncertainty is one of the critical problems that most of problemslike production planning problem encounter This research deals with the single level capacitatedlot sizing problem CLSP with variations in demands The demand variations construct a set ofscenarios and one of our objectives is to find the least conflicting solution among scenariosalong with minimizing costs And this means robustness To this purpose in this dissertation tworobustness criteria for CLSP named CLSPR1 and CLSPR 2 is defined also lot sizing problem withdifferent sizes have been solved Since the problem is NP hard we have used GA to solve theproblem Results show that CLSPR 2 criteria has less cost that the other criteria But this criterianeeds more solution time than CLSPR1 criteria Key WordsRobustness Robust production planning Capacitated Lot Sizing Problem pdfMachine is a pdf writer that produces quality PDF files with ease Get yours now Thank you very much I can use Acrobat Distiller or the Acrobat PDFWriter but I consider your product a lot easier to use and much preferable to Adobe s A Sarras USA
