The Analysis of Tensional Forces in the Elemnts of Marquisette Curtain net as a Consequence of Vertical Drape Using Finite Elemnts Software Elham Amirnasr eli am85@tx iut ac ir Date of Submission 5 20 2009 Department of Textile engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language FarsiSupervisors Dariush Semnani d semnani@cc iut ac irAdvisors Saeed Ajeli sajeli@cc iut ac irAbstractThe role played by the industrial warp knitted fabrics has become very important in recent years in industry agriculture medicine etc This matter is due to the superior properties of these fabrics including their lowweight suitable elasticity constant dimensions high durability stability at high and low temperatures resistance to corrosion and degradation and their low costs In the textile industry problem faced by engineers is mostly because of complexity of the fibrous products interms of geometrical and mechanical properties The finite elements method is a numerical technique that canbe utilized for various complexities in the field of engineering such as stress heat transfer electromagnetism and fluid analysis In the present research mechanical properties of Marquisette and Laid in warp knitted fabrics have beenconsidered for their industrial and home applications the mechanical software ABAQUS was used formodeling of various patterns in warp knitted fabrics and analyzing the results during vertical drape After performing bending drape and strength tests and evaluating the test results the best possible patternswere presented for the appropriate applications The results obtained from the bending test showed that laid in structure with three needle space has the best application in orthopedics The result of the drape test alsoshowed that two Marquisette structure desigened with four and three in lay yarn and with three and two in lay yarn has application in curtain net The strength test results showed that the tensile strength of the laid infabric with four needle space is more than other fabrics The results of mechanical analysis by using ABAQUS software presented that the Marquisette structure withfour and three in lay yarns has the most dimensional stability least displacement and least element deformityin course of time than other patterns Hence structural changes in Marquisette structure have great effect onthe displacement of the elements Keyword Warp knitted fabrics Drape Modeling Finite element IV
