AbstractShape Memory Alloys have a wide range of applications in engineering and medicinebecause of their special properties For example they have been used in aerospace structureengineering bio mechanics and robotics Because of the complex structure of shape memoryalloys applicable equations for common metals can not predict the behavior of these alloys Inthis way SMA Torque Tubes produced from these alloys have the special properties One oftheir properties which has a major application in aerospace and machinery is recoveringtorque that produced with restricting the thin walled shape memory torque tube and thenraising temperature This property enables producer using these SMA Torque Tubes instead ofmotors for producing torsion torque Because of the many difficulties for modeling of ShapeMemory Alloys a three dimensional model based on Micro plane theory has been used tosimulate a such behavior the simulations in this thesis include simulation of tension torsionbehavior of shape memory torque tube under a fix temperature simulation of the recoveryshear stress along limiting SMA Torque Tube and changing temperature simulation ofchanging shear strain rather than changing temperature along a fix loading simulation ofcyclic behavior at tension torsion and simulation of Non proportional tension torsion loadingat two states Comparing these results with other researchers s results caused to accuracy ofsuch a simulation Because of comparing these results with experimental results a tension torsion device has been manufactured for tension torsion loading in this thesis At first thisdevice is tried for thin walled steel tube but because of existence of sleep in device s clamp an error is shown at results that needs to more experiments Finally results obtained from thisthesis has been represented and then some regards is proposed about the continuance of thethesis activities
