combination Studies and Geophysics and Geochemistery Data Modeling of Index Bolboly Cu Au in Chahar Gonbad to Design Preliminary Drilling Bagher Mohammadi bagher mohammadi@gmail com Date of Submission 13 April 2010 Mining Engineering Department Isfhan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Fars Supervisor Hooshang Asadi Harooni and Nader Fathianpour Abstract Based on the suggested exploratory work plan given in the positive preliminary exploration report carried out at Bolboli area located 8 km southeast of Chahargonbad copper mine in 2006 the semi detailed exploration program including preparation of topographic and geological maps petrographical studies soil and rock geochemical sampling and analysis 331 samples in total and IP RS geophysical surveys at 13 profiles were carried out in 2008 These exploratory works were mainly focused at three parts of Bolboli region and showed that the Cu mineralization at Bolboli 1 zone is likely of porphyry type with the average copper content of 0 2 percent coinciding with the known intrusive rocks of Dioritic type The IP RS anomalous signatures obtained out of six profiles surveyed at this zone resemble the extension of mineralized Dioritic rocks having significant ptotassic alteration and dense Quartz Magnetite stockwork patterns In contrast with Bolboli 1 zone the mineralization at Bolboli 2 zone bearing Chalcopyrite as the main copper ore simulates that of vein type hydrothermal sulphidic mineralization believed to be associated with a brecciated silicic calcarous unit of 15m width and 400m length along main Bolboli fault running southwest to northeast direction The geochemical soil samples taken from Bolboli 2 zone show considerable amount of locally anomalous elements including up to 0 1 Pct Cu 2 5 Pct Pb 1 1 Pct Zn and 30 PPB of Au contents The intensity of the IP RS anomalies obtained out of five profiles surveyed at Bolboli 2 zone are less than that of Bolboli 1 zone and are mainly coincided with a small Dioritic intrusive mass known to have Quartz Magnetite veinlets In Bolboli 3 zone the copper mineralization is locally of carbonate type bearing iron oxides along and is believed to be associated with the Andesitic tuffs undergoing argillic alteration The IP RS anomalies registered from two profiles at Bolboli 3 zone is much less that the other Bolboli zones mainly due to the type of mineralization which is calcarous Finally all evidential layers believed to be related to the copper mineralization at Bolboli area including lithological alteration IP RS geochemical and tectonic maps were combined using a Fuzzy logic model and the most favorable areas were identified Based on final favorable map obtained from Fuzzy logic modeling two boreholes in Bolboli 1 and one borehole in Bolboli 2 and 3 zones respectively were suggested for further depth investigations Key words copper chahargonbad bolboli combined fuzzy logic
