Higgs Interaction in Non Commutative Space Time Hussein Akafzade amirphy1@gmail com March 13 2011 Department of Physics Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Farsi Dr Mansour Haghighat Mail mansour @cc iut ac ir Abstract In this thesis by a survey of symmetry breaking we investigate how the Higgs Mechanism is responsible for the inert mass of elementary particles Some people call the Higgs particle as God particle which is not true Because by using this word we may think that the Higgs has created elementary particles Actually Higgs is just responsible for their inert masses It means that after the big bang particles were massless and were moving with speed of light As the universe became cooler interaction between particles and Higgs field became considerable and they gained the mass Only with this consumption we can have a renormalizable standard model If we suppose that particles have masses as an intrinsic property some Lagrangins in the theory can t be invariance under local gauge transformations Also some of the divergence in the theory wouldn t be renormalized We explain how this hypothesis can solve those problems We also give a brief review on the Non Commutative Space Time and the both versions of the Non Commutative Standard Model or NCSM One of them is based on Seiberg Witten map In this version all fields in the theory depend on the parameter of non commutativity while in the other one there is no such dependency There are many problems in both cases At three level and quantum level and some of them haven t been completely removed For example in Seiberg Witten map the theory can not be renormalized for more than one loop corrections Or in general the IR UV mixing is an intrinsic feature of none commutative field theories There are also some problems with the extra gauge fields charge quantization and the no go theorem In the Seiberg Witten map that we have used in this thesis instead of Lie algebra Enveloping algebra has been used which is more expanded But by use of that algebra many unknown parameter would appear that at first can t be determined To solve this problem Seiberg and Witten expanded the boson and fermion wave functions by use of non commutative parameter and could determine those unknown constants Electroweak actions apart from the Higgs interactions has been already studied in NC Standard Model by others Here we would like to elucidate those Higgs interactions and their vertices by considering the Higgs and Yukawa actions The obtained results can be divided into three major categories The first one includes those interactions that already exist in the ordinary standard model and
