128 Evaluation and Comparison of Three Irrigation Methods in Refugees of Isfahan s Landscape Amin Dadashi Jokandan Dadashi164@yahoo com Date of Submission 2011 03 06 Department of Water Engineering Isfahan University of Technology Isfahan 84156 83111 Iran Degree M Sc Language Persian Supervisor Manouchehr Heidarpour heidar@cc iut ac ir Behrouz Mostafazade Fard behrouz@cc iut ac ir Abstract The most important effects of landscape in cities deal with eliminating of adverse effects of incorrect application of industry and technology development from one hand and increasing of the cities view from the other hand Shortage of water resources and the necessity of the landscape development increase the need for applying the new irrigation methods with high efficiencies There rote the study to investigate the effects of application of the new irrigation methods for landscape is needed In this study the effect of three irrigation methods of surface irrigation drip irrigation and subsurface drip irrigation on vegetation growth was evaluated in refugees of Isfahan s landscape province A randomized complete block design with three replications for each treatment irrigation method was used Some parts of Sheikhmofid refugees in Isfahan city and Ghadir refugees in Sepahanshahr were selected for the study and the require irrigation systems were designed The refugees were irrigated from end of February 2010 to the end of September 2010 After evaluation the uniformity of lower quarter and Christinsan s uniformity coefficient for surface irrigation in Sheikhmofid refugees were obtained 75 and 84 respectively Also water application efficiency deep percolation and water requirement efficiency for surface irrigation were calculated for Sheikhmofid refugees and they were 72 28 and 99 respectively For Sepahanshahr s refugees these parameters were 75 25 and 99 respectively Average Christinsan s uniformity coefficient water discharge uniformity of emitters absolute water discharge uniformity of emitters and real application efficiencies of lower quarter for drip irrigation in Sheikhmofid refugees were 91 91 5 90 and 91 respectively For Sepahanshahr s refugees these parameters were 92 91 90 and 91 respectively Average Christensen s uniformity coefficient water discharge uniformity of emitters absolute water discharge uniformity of emitters and real application efficiencies of lower quarter in subsurface drip irrigation obtained for Sheikhmofid refugees were 92 87 84 5 and 85 respectively These parameters for Sepahanshahr s Refugees were 90 86 84 and 86 respectively Vegetative growth indexes for plants were measured at two different times and effects of irrigation methods on vegetative growth were determined The results showed that growth values of branch 1 growth values of branch 2 leaf area of Morus alba tree and Longitudinal growth of Ligustrum ovalifolium in subsurface drip irrigation and drip irrigation method were significantly different at the 5 level as compared to the surface irrigation method Percentage of the grown buds had no significant difference in three irrigation methods Also in Sepahanshahr s site values of growth of branch 1 growth of branch 2 of Morus alba tree longitudinal growth of Ligustrum ovalifolium and Berberis thunbergii Indexes in subsurface drip irrigation and drip irrigation method were significantly different at the 1 level as compared with surface irrigation Leaf area index values of Morus alba tree for subsurface irrigation had no significant difference with surface irrigation method at the 1 level The percentage of grown buds index for the three irrigation methods were not significantly different Keywords Drip irrigation Subsurface drip irrigation Refugees Landscape Growth Index
